Biography

Baptiste Masotti is currently one of three Frenchmen in the
top 25, and he played for his nation in Washington, DC in 2019.

The Frenchman made his first appearance on the Tour in 2013, and in
only his second main draw, he reached the semi-finals of the Shepparton Open. His first final came a year later at the 2015 MRU Open, and other finalists followed at both the Summer and Winter Challenger in Helsinki.

Masotti won his first title in 2016, defeating Asim Khan in the Iranian Squash Federation Kish Persian Gulf final in 2016. He had four other finalists before his next victory, which came at the Remeo Helsinki Summer Challenger in 2017 .

The Frenchman reached the semi-finals of the Nantes International Squash Open, a Challenger 30 event, in 2018 and went on to win three times in six months. He has won the Open International Niort Venise Verte, Carter Client Group & Assant Wealth Management - The Carter Classic titles, and the Crawford Fund Management LLC Open titles.

His breakthrough on the PSA World Tour came in October 2019, when he qualified for the quarter-finals of the Platinum level CIB Egyptian Open, doing so ahead of the Pyramids. He was rewarded with a place in the French quartet for the WSF World Men's Team Squash Championships in Washington, DC

Since then, Masotti has started to feature regularly in the last 16 of major tournaments, making the third round five times in 2021, including at the PSA World Championships and the Allam British Open. These results saw him break into the world top 20 for the first time in his career in November of the same year.

Other than an early exit at the Windy City Open presented by the Walter family, Masotti's form at the start of 2022 was stable and included third-round results at both the Allam British Open and the El Gouna International. He ended the campaign with a quarter-final appearance at the Necker Mauritius Open presented by Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels.

In the second half of 2022, Masotti reached the last 16 of the US Open and the Grasshopper Cup, losing to Peruvian Diego Elias each time. He then reached the final of the Open International Niort Venise Verte on the Challenger Tour, where he lost to Borja Golan in four games.
